the course.

Two headcover concepts. A little golf tradition, a lot of personality, and attention to the details that bring an idea to life.

01 / The idea

Two ways to
make it personal.

A headcover has a job to do. It can have some character, too.

I explored two directions for a driver cover: one takes its cues from the green jacket, and the other turns player signatures into an all-over graphic. Each idea carries through from the overall shape to the artwork, trim, and material details.

02 / The green jacket concept

Only Patrons.

A little green jacket for the club that sets the tone.

I started with a question: what’s one thing golfers can agree on? For me, it’s the Masters. That week at Augusta. The best of the best duking it out for the green jacket. Everybody would love to win one. Very few do—let alone back to back.

Only Patrons puts a little of that feeling on your driver. I wanted to carry the character of the jacket into the details you can see and feel, then make those details work for a headcover that lives in your bag.

01 / Fabric & form

A jacket, built for the bag.

A wool-like, woven feel across the headcover, with embroidered lapels to give it that jacket look. The aim is to keep the character of the tailoring while making the detail durable.

02 / Finishing touches

Buttoned up.

Four custom brass buttons echo the jacket’s cuffs. Satin-gold piping follows the shape and ties it all together. Those little touches are what make it feel like a jacket.

03 / Inside

Luxury, all the way in.

A soft, plush lining brings that same attention to the inside. I wanted it to feel special every time you take it off or put it back on.

03 / The autograph concept

Signature
Series.

A little inspiration from the greats, right there in your bag.

If you grew up loving a sport, you probably had a player you looked up to. Cam Neely or Brad Marchand. Ben Hogan or Tiger Woods. Tom Brady. Different sports and generations, but the same dream: meeting your hero and getting their autograph.

That feeling is the inspiration behind Signature Series: the signatures of Team TaylorMade tour players in your bag, bringing a little of their energy and greatness to every round. It’s a headcover I’d love to have in my own bag.

01 / First impression

Clean from a distance.

A simple black-and-white palette keeps the look clean and timeless. Contrasting panels define the shape, letting the signatures and TaylorMade marks do the talking.

02 / A closer look

More than a pattern.

Look closer and the graphic reveals itself as autographs. Varied scale and placement give each signature its own space, with proposed embroidery adding texture to that connection with the players.

03 / Future editions

A new chapter, every year.

The concept could evolve with annual player selections or limited-edition releases. The clean design stays recognizable, while each edition celebrates a new chapter of Team TaylorMade.

04 / From concept to construction

The details
behind the design.

The render shows the idea. The technical package explains how the pieces come together: panel placement, color references, materials, embroidery, trim, and finishing.

These are concept and technical handoff documents. Final materials, dimensions, and construction remain subject to manufacturer review and physical sampling.

05 / Behind the scenes

Before the polish.

In the weeks before this brief, I was so excited about the possibility of working at TaylorMade that I started sketching ideas for fun. One was a bag covered in logos and player signatures. Then I put it aside and somehow forgot about it.

After getting the headcover brief, I filled these pages with ideas and took my motorcycle out to clear my head. About 15 concepts in, I had that forehead-slap moment: the signatures. The bag idea became the starting point for Signature Series.

The green jacket came to me early. The brief asked for something I’d want in my own bag, and a little Masters-inspired jacket for my driver popped straight into my head. To me, that green jacket is something every golfer recognizes and respects.

Golf was already on my mind, and the timing couldn’t have been better. On October 16, I played in FreeHab Therapy’s scramble golf tournament at San Marcos Exec. I created FreeHab’s branding and did all the design work for the tournament, so it was a chance to see that work come to life, shoot photos, and get a round in for a good cause.
