Hey, I’m
Jimmy.

I love figuring things out.
I love bringing people together.
And I love being part of something bigger than me.

A little more about me ↓

Curious mind. Full heart. Usually making something.

Being part of
something great.

I love community. Having people to show up for, something to contribute to, and a reason to care beyond myself. Helping others is a big part of what makes me happy.

My hockey teams are a good example. We come together because we love the game, but the friendships reach well beyond the ice. We talk about our families, goals, dreams, and whatever life is throwing at us. Then we get together off the ice and make room for those things, too.

Sometimes those locker-room conversations get a little ridiculous—and I love seeing where they go. With Track Suit Mafia, the crazy ideas turned into three complete hockey uniform designs: black tracksuits, white tracksuits, and “skins.” I got to take a joke we shared and turn it into something we could actually wear on the ice.

That’s a pretty perfect overlap of who I am and what I do: being part of a community, feeding off each other’s ideas, and using design to make something that feels like us.

That sense of belonging means a lot to me. I want to be involved, be useful, and help build something we’re all proud to be part of.

“What if…”
is usually
how it starts.

I love figuring things out. Give me something broken, something that could work better, or an idea that hasn’t quite clicked, and I want to get into it.

Buying a motorcycle someone says is dead and bringing it back to life is one of my favorite things. I’ve rebuilt a few 1985 Honda Goldwings that their previous owners had written off as “trash.” I brought them home and got to work: wiring, head gaskets, stripping them down to the frame. Cleaning every nook and cranny, polishing, painting, repairing, and giving them some love. Those bikes were amazing again.

I did the same with a Honda Del Sol that didn’t run. That one came home on a flatbed. I welded in patches, painted it, replaced the fuel tank, fuel lines, and suspension, and rebuilt the motor and transmission. Getting her running again after all that work was the best part.

Of course, things break along the way. Tools. Bolts. Your sanity. But I love being able to rally, work through it, and figure out the next move. There’s creativity in that, too: you can often solve the same problem a few different ways.

“I love golf because—well, for me—every shot is a problem!”

A new angle, a different approach, another chance to learn. That’s part of the fun.

Let’s see
where it goes.

Jimmy sketching during a live design event

I love the beginning of an idea. The napkin sketch, the conversation, the slightly wild suggestion that gives everyone something new to build on. Collaboration lights me up. I love watching people get excited as we bounce ideas around and discover something together.

When someone tells me they can’t draw, I ask when they last tried. Then we talk about something they’re good at and how often they do it. I think creativity is a muscle. The more you use it, the more comfortable you get exploring.

I want people to feel safe sharing the unfinished thought. You don’t have to arrive with the answer. Sometimes a question, a rough sketch, or an unexpected perspective is exactly what gets us somewhere interesting.

And I love following the idea all the way through: from that first conversation to something you can hold, wear, watch, or walk into. Seeing it become real never gets old.

Still curious.
Different tools.

01

On the ice

Hockey brings together the game I love and a group of close friends. The conversations and connections carry on long after we leave the rink.

02

In the garage

I ran a car-detailing business for ten years on the East Coast. Engine swaps, manual conversions, modified Hondas, and motorcycles: I love learning how things work by getting my hands into them.

03

On the course

Golf is a wonderfully complicated way to chase one good shot. There’s always something to figure out, something to improve, and a reason to come back.

04

Behind the lens

Photography, video, and drone work give me another way to explore. Shooting my own event content brought together a practical need and something I love doing.

05

Making it physical

3D printing scratches that same itch: an idea becomes an object, a broken part becomes a project, and a little experimenting can lead to a useful fix.

06

Getting outside

The Tacoma, a rooftop tent, and some time camping. I love making room for a different pace and a change of scenery.

I care about what we make.
And who we make it with.

Professionally, I’ve worn the hats of creative director, senior designer, and creative leader. Multidisciplinary designer ties it all together: I work across brand identity, digital, print, apparel, live experiences, photography, and video. I like understanding how the pieces connect, then getting hands-on to make them work.

Over 20-plus years, that has also meant leading creative teams, mentoring designers, and improving the way work moves between people. The curiosity that pulls me into a garage project is the same curiosity I bring to a design challenge. And the sense of community I find on the ice is something I want to help build at work.

I’m looking for somewhere to put down roots: a team I can invest in, people I can learn from and support, and work we can care about together.
